According to regulations at the University of Bergen anyone who is not a Norwegian citizen or a citizen of another Nordic country has the right to submit to the examination if the faculty, upon reasoned application and recommendation from the relevant academic environment, authorizes this. Such access is preferably granted if the dissertation: • treats topics or builds on materials that are directly related to Norway • has a strong connection with Norwegian research in the field of study • has been conducted during a stay at a Norwegian university or research institute, or in special contact with Norwegian researchers, or if the applicant has a residence permit in Norway.
Upload both Master and Bachelor certificates. The degree of Doctor Philosophiae (Dr. Philos.) may be conferred to persons who have completed a second cycle degree, i.e. a master's programme or equivalent studies.
