MIC_TempStore is for temporary storage provided by MIC for users to transfer data from our instruments and analysis computers. Data on the instrument PCs must be deleted after transfer, which should be done after each session at the instrument. *
-
MIC_TempStore is intended for temporary storage. Data older than 6 months will be automatically deleted. To maintain good working habits, move the data to other storage as soon as possible and subsequently delete it from MIC_TempStore. *
-
On MIC_TempStore, you have to store your data in a folder with your name on this format "Last name_First name_affiliation" (Johnsen_John_IBM). Be aware that all users with access to the MIC_TempStore will be able to access all the folders. *
-
If you work with software provided by MIC, such as AIVIA and IMARIS, the data must be temporarily stored on the local computer where the software is installed. You may move data back and forth on the MIC_TempStore while working on the analysis. When finished, all data, including the analyzed data, must be removed from the local computer via MIC_TempStore to your own storage solution. *
-
To move the data from the MIC_TempStore to your own storage solution, you can map this server location on your own PC. On Windows, this is done by right-clicking on "This PC," choosing "Map network drive," and entering \\klient.uib.no\felles\prosjekt\MIC_TempStore. Log in with your UiB credentials, remembering to include UiB\ in front of your username. For Mac users, please request procedure: mic@uib.no *
-
Data that falls into the category of SENSITIVE data (human origin) cannot be stored at MIC_TempStore. *
-
You and your PI are responsible for knowing when your data falls into the category of SENSITIVE data and how it must be handled and stored. You can move it from the instruments to your appropriate storage using an external hard drive. https://www.uib.no/lagring#lagringstjenester-nbsp- *
