About NorESM
The Norwegian Earth System Model (NorESM) is a coupled Earth System Model developed by the NorESM Climate modeling Consortium (NCC), and provides a key infrastructure for Norwegian climate research community on a national and international level. NorESM has been in continuous development since 2007, and has, along with other international ESMs, contributed comprehensively to the 5th and 6th assessment reports of the IPCC. On a national level, NorESM simulations provide a basis for climate services, which delivers targeted information to stakeholders for decision making.
About the workshop
The user workshop will provide a general introduction to the NorESM model system and the climate model data output. It is intended for Ph.D students, postdocs and scientists who are interested in executing model simulations and learning more about technical aspects around it.
Venue and Dates
The workshop will be arranged as a hybrid physical-virtual meeting making use of video conference rooms in Oslo, Bergen and Tromsø. We plan for 4 half-day sessions over 2 weeks. Since the workshop will be broadcasted, it may be possible to attend remotely, but assistance for hands-on sessions will primarily be organized on location. Additional information

In order to make the workshop useful for as many people as possible, we would like to collect some background information about the participants.

Participants are required to bring a personal computer with installed SSH client, to enable connection to Sigma2 HPC and storage resources.
